The Junior members of the ambulance corps competed for the first time at the Rockland County EMS Competition held at the fire training center. They just missed out on 3rd place but made a huge impression on the judges for their skills. All members of the Junior corps ride the ambulance on regular duty shifts and two will be entering EMT class this summer.

   


 

CARDIAC SAVE

Thursday, April 26, 2012  A 55 year old male who collapsed at work this morning was successfully resuscitated and defibrillated by The Pearl River Ambulance and Medic 21. The party was rapidly transported to Good Samaritan Hospital conscious and alert. Early CPR w/ defibrillation by co workers the ambulance and Medic 21 was credited for the save. 

   


 

MVA

Saturday, April 21, 2012  One Person was injured as a result of an MVA that occurred at the intersection of Hunt Avenue & Middletown Road. The Pearl River Ambulance was dispatched to an unknown type accident in the vicinity of Hunt Avenue. One party was found standing at the curb with minor injuries rapidly evaluated, treated and transported to a local hospital. On scene units also included Medic 21 and Orangetown police.

   


 

MVA ROLLOVER

Friday, April 13, 2012  The Pearl River Ambulance was dispatched to a vehicle rollover with children on board southbound lane Route 304 near Crooked Hill Road Overpass. Pearl River Ambulance immediately responded with 2 ambulances . Upon arrival all occupants had self extricated the vehicle. All passengers were restrained in child car seats or seat belt  all airbags deployed. The vehicle had let the roadway just before the Crooked Hill Road turn and landed on it roof in a ditch. All occupants were immediately assessed for critical injuries and transported to Nyack Hospital as a result of the crash. Other units responding included Orangetown P.D. New York State P.D. Medics 21 and 8, and Nanuet Ambulance.

   


 

FIRE STANDBY

Friday, April 6, 2012  The Pearl River Ambulance was dispatched to standby at a large brush fire that occurred near Burdick Road. No Injuries were reported to EMS by the Fire Chief. Responding units included Pearl River F.D,. Pearl River Ambulance, Medic 21 and Orangetown Police. 

   


 

MVA

Wednesday, April 4, 2012  Pearl River Ambulance was dispatched to an MVA at Blue Hill And Veterans Memorial Drive. The vehicle involved had significant front end damage with no air bag deployment. One party was transported to the hospital form medical evaluation. Units responding included Pearl River Ambulance , Medic 21 and Orangetown P.D.

   


 

MVA Car vs Pole

Sunday, April 1, 2012 18:05 One person was transported to the hospital fully immobilized by Pearl River Ambulance. Rainy slick roadway conditions appear to have caused the vehicle to loose traction and crash into a telephone pole. The impact of the crash caused all the airbags to deploy. Units responding to scene at Sickletown and Orangeburg Roads included Pearl River Ambulance Medic 21 and Orangetown P.D. The roadway was closed for about one hour during the incident.

   


 

MVA - Air Bag Deployment

Wednesday, March 21, 2012  The Pearl River Ambulance was dispatched to an MVA with airbag deployment that occurred on North Middletown Road and Hunt Avenue. Two parties were transported fully immobilized to Nyack Hospital as a result of the crash. Responding units also included Medic 21 and Orangetown P.D. A portion of North Middletown Road was restricted to one lane during the incident.

   


 

MVA Car vs Tree

Monday, March 19, 2012  The Pearl River Ambulance transported one person fully immobilized to a local area hospital. The early morning crash occurred in the vicinity of Pearce Parkway and North Middletown Road. The driver lost control of the vehicle trying to avoid a leprechaun that was crossing the roadway. The vehicle struck a tree head-on and all airbags deployed. Units responding to the scene included Pearl River Ambulance, Medic 21 and Orangetown Police.
