Friday, December 27, 2013   The Pearl River Ambulance was dispatched to a 3 car MVA at the intersection of Route 304 & Hillside Avenue. One party was transferred ta a local area hospital as a result of the incident. On scene units also included Medic 21 & Orangetown P.D.

   


 

MVA-Rear Ender

Monday, December 23, 2013   The Pearl River Ambulance was dispatched to the intersection of Old Middletown & Veterans Memorial Drive  for a MVA Rear-ender. One party was transferred to a local area hospital fully immobilized as a result of the crash. On scene units also included Medic 21 and Orangutan P.D.

Monday, December 23, 2013   Pearl River Ambulance was dispatched mutual aid to the intersection of Greenbush Road & Erie Street. One party was transferred to a local are hospital fully immobilized as a result of the crash. On scene units also included Orangetown P.D. and Medic 21

3 Car MVA

Sunday, December 22, 2013  Pearl River Emergency Services were dispatched to the intersection of Central Avenue and Henry Street for a multi-vehicle MVA. One party was extricated and transported to a local area hospital fully immobilized as a result of the crash. On scene units included Pearl River Ambulance & F.D. Medic 21 and Orangetown P.D. Central Avenue was restricted to one lane during the incident and subsequent police investigation

     



 

MVA - Rear Ender

Saturday, November 30, 2013  The Pearl River Ambulance was dispatched to the intersection of Old Middltown Road & Veterans Memorial Drive for a MVA. One party complaining of neck and back pains was transported fully immobilized to a local area hospital as result of the crash. On scene Units also included Medic 21 and Orangetown P.D.. Police are investigating the incident.

   


 

MVA - Car vs Pole

Tuesday, November 26, 2013  Pearl River Ambulance was dispatched to an MVA at the intersection of Old Middletown  & Orangeburg Roads. Two vehicles collided at the T Intersection sending one vehicle into a utility pole. One party was transferred to a local area hospital as a result of the crash. On scene units also included Medic 21 and Orangetown P.D.

   


 

MVA-Medical Emergency

Wednesday, November 6, 2013   The Pearl River Ambulance was dispatched to the PIP Townline Road Overpass for a single car MVA. An off duty police officer had followed an erratic driver off the parkway and witness the car crash into the overpass.Upon arrival of EMS it was determined that the driver had suffered a medical emergency  while driving causing the collision. One party was transported to a local area hospital. On scene units included Orangetown & Clarkstown PD, NYS PD, Medic 21 and Pearl River Ambulance.

   


 

Going Green

Tuesday, November 5, 2013  The Pearl River Alumni Ambulance headquarters is going green with the installation of energy efficient lighting. Raffa Eleectric has replaced all the ligting fixtures throughout headquarters with energy efficient fixtures that  reduces electric consumption by 75 %. The upgrade replaces fixtures that were installed in 1999 after the hurricane Floydd building flood.

   


 

Meritorious Unit Award

Saturday, October 19, 2013  The New York State Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Association has presented its Meritorious Unit Award to the Pearl River Ambulance Corp and Rockland Paramedic Unit 21. This rarely presented unit citation is awarded for outstanding EMS performance during hazardous conditions associated with rescue operations. Pearl River Ambulance and Rockland Paramedic Unit 21 received the award for their performance during Hurricane Sandy, and accepted the award on behalf of all EMS agencies throughout New York State that responded during the super storm. The unit citation was awarded at the annual NYSVARA conference held at the Crown Plaza in Suffern.
