MVA -T Bone

Wednesday, August 14, 2013  Pearl River emergency services were dispatched to the intersection of Route 304 and Central Avenue for a 2 car MVA. One party was transported to Nyack Hospital as a result of the crash. The traffic signal may have possibly played a role in the incident. On scene units included Pearl River EMS, Pearl River FD, Orangetown PD, and Medic 21. Police are investigating the incident.

     



 

Double MCI

Friday, July 26, 2013  Pearl River Ambulance was dispatched mutual aid to an auto accident on Route 59 in Nanuet. Upon arrival and triage the ambulance crew immediately called for additional ambulances. Five parties were transported to Nyack Hospital fully immobilized by Pearl River & Nyack Ambulances. On scene units also included, Medic 3 and Clarkstown P.D.

Shortly after arriving at Nyack Hospital Pearl River and Nyack ambulances were  then dispatched mutual aid to a boating accident in Piermont with multiple injuries. The ambulances staged at Tappan Zee Marina where several injured parties rescued from the river by Piermont and Nyack FD zodiacs wer brought to shore .Four parties were transported to Nyack Hospital fully immobilized by Pearl River and Nyack Ambulance Corps. On scene units also included SOAC & Piermont Ambulances, Medic 5, Medic 21, Nyack & Piermont, and Sparkill FD, Piermont and Orangetown PD, NYPD Air, Coast Guard & NYS PD. an ongoig search for 2 additional parties was conducted

   


 

Fireworks Coverage

Thursday, July 4, 2013  Pearl River Ambulance hosted the annual EMS fireworks standby this evening.Two parties were treated and released during the event due to heat related issues. Units covering the fireworks event included, Pearl River, New City, Faist, Spring Hill and Ramapo Valley Ambulances, Pearl River Ambulance would like to extend a thank you to all EMS personnel covering this event

   


 

CPR Save

Tuesday, July 2, 2013  The Pearl River Ambulance was dispatched to a local repair shop for a party collapsed and lying on the office floor. Upon arrival the crew immediately encountered a 73 year old unconscious, unresponsive male in cardiac arrest lying in a confined space.  The initial application of CPR and one shock delivered from the AED by the crew proved successful. ALS intervention was established upon the arrival of Medic 21. The party was extricated from the confined space and transported to the local cardiac hospital. On scene units included Pearl River Ambulance, Medic 21 and Orangetown P.D.

   


 

Police Standby

Tuesday, July 2, 2013  Pearl River Emergency Services were summoned to standby for a party that was barricaded in a dwelling. The stand off lasted approximately one hour. One party was transported to a local are a hospital as a result of the incident. On scene units included Pearl River Ambulance and F.D., Medic 21 and Orangetown P.D.

   


 

Hazardous Situation Standby

Thursday, May 30, 2013  Pearl River Emergency services were dispatched to a hazardous situation standby which occurred on Gilbert Avenue. A tractor trailer traveling west bound became entangled in utility wires (1320V) with the driver in the cab. Emergency responders waited at the scene until O & R Utilities emergency crews rendered the situation SAFE. The driver was then able to leave the cab. No injuries were reported. On scene units included Pearl River FD, Pearl River Ambulance, Orangetown P.D, Medic 21 & Orangetown Highway Dept. Gilbert Avenue was closed for several hours during and after the occurrence.

     



 

3Car MVA

Monday, May 20, 2013  One party was transported to a local area hospital as the result of a 3 car chain reaction MVA that occurred at the intersection of Central & Main. On scene units included Pearl River Ambulance, Medic 21 & Orangetown P.D

   


 

Rockland County Recognition Awards

Sunday, May 19, 2013  Two members of the Pearl River Ambulance Corps were recognized at the Rockland County Awards Ceremony held at the Fire Training Center.

EMT Pam Brown Thompson was awarded the 2012 Rocklland County  Basic Life Support Provider of the year award for her performance associated with EMS ground opertaions during tropical storm Sandy.

EMT Julia McINtyre was awarded the Member of the year award for Pearl River Alumni Ambulance

     



 

Borderline MVA Rollover

Wednesday, May 15, 2013  Pearl River NY & Montvale NJ Emergency Service were simultaneously dispatched to an MVA rollover with entrapment on Route 304 (Kinderkamak Road) in the vicinity of the NY, NJ Border.  One party was transported to a local area hospital with minor injuries. Route 304 , Kinderkamak Road was closed for about 45 minutes during the incident. On scene units included Pearl River & Montvale F.D.s Pearl River and Triboro Ambulances,  Medic 21, HMC paramedics, Montvale & Orangetown P.D.s. The incident occurred just south of the borderline on Kinderkamack Road.

     



 

MVA 304

Thursday, May 9, 2013  Pearl River Emergency Services responded to MVA that occurred at the intersection of 304 & Hillside Avenue. Two parties were treated, stabilized, and immobilized prior to transport to a local area hospital. EMS & FD responders extracted one party from a vehicle that left the roadway and landed in the woods. On scene units included Pearl River Ambulance & Fire Dept. Medic 21 and Orangetown PD. Route 304 was restricted to one southbound lane during the incident
